Week in Review

Warning this will be a lengthy post with a lot of pictures.

Last weekend we went to New Orleans for Caroline's Dance Recital. She did a great job as expected. I was limited to pictures in the stands and wasn't able to record her dances due to my leg injury. The next day John and his Mom took Caroline and James on their first tubing trip near Baton Rouge. Once again because of my leg injury I had to stay behind, but we are already planning on going again Labor Day weekend.

We have been trying to get Christopher to spend the night at Grammy's. We realized that he hasn't spent the night away from us since last year when we went to my cousin Jared's wedding Memorial Day weekend. Wednesday night we went over to Grammy's house for dinner and Christopher said that he wanted to stay and spend the night with James. So we left him happily watching Mickey, but we were sure we were going to have to go back and pick him up. Well sure enough we weren't even home for 15 minutes and we got a call that Christopher wanted to stay at his house.
I get told all the time that I need to get Christopher's hair cut. I have been scared that if I cut it short that his curls would be gone and I wasn't ready for that. However, I am pretty certain that he has natural curly hair like his Mama and that they will grow back. When we got to the salon this morning I told Melissa to cut it above his ears and that short in the back, and to hurry up before I change my mind. It doesn't really look that short in the picture, but trust me it is.

Here is the latest picture of the boys, this time Cole was the one that decided to look at the camera and smile.

Cole is getting bigger every day. I'm expecting a tooth to pop through any day now. He is chewing on any and everything he can get his little hands on. He still hasn't rolled over yet and is getting pretty close to sitting up. One of the reasons he probably hasn't rolled yet is because he does not enjoy being on his stomach. Below is one of the rare times that he lasted on his belly and it was only for a few minutes. When he is on his back he can roll to his side but stops there.

For those who do not know I have been dealing with what we originally thought was a knee injury for the last 6 weeks. After waiting 4 weeks to get an MRI it was discovered that my knee was fine, but I had a pretty large stress fracture on my tibia right below my knee. My Dr. said he has never seen or heard of a fracture that high up on the bone. I was told no weight on the leg and I have to wear this very large and annoying brace on my leg. I went back to the Dr this week for a follow up and it is healing not getting worse!! I have to wear the brace for 4 more weeks, but no more crutches!!
