Week in Review

Warning this will be a lengthy post with a lot of pictures.

Last weekend we went to New Orleans for Caroline's Dance Recital. She did a great job as expected. I was limited to pictures in the stands and wasn't able to record her dances due to my leg injury. The next day John and his Mom took Caroline and James on their first tubing trip near Baton Rouge. Once again because of my leg injury I had to stay behind, but we are already planning on going again Labor Day weekend.

We have been trying to get Christopher to spend the night at Grammy's. We realized that he hasn't spent the night away from us since last year when we went to my cousin Jared's wedding Memorial Day weekend. Wednesday night we went over to Grammy's house for dinner and Christopher said that he wanted to stay and spend the night with James. So we left him happily watching Mickey, but we were sure we were going to have to go back and pick him up. Well sure enough we weren't even home for 15 minutes and we got a call that Christopher wanted to stay at his house.
I get told all the time that I need to get Christopher's hair cut. I have been scared that if I cut it short that his curls would be gone and I wasn't ready for that. However, I am pretty certain that he has natural curly hair like his Mama and that they will grow back. When we got to the salon this morning I told Melissa to cut it above his ears and that short in the back, and to hurry up before I change my mind. It doesn't really look that short in the picture, but trust me it is.

Here is the latest picture of the boys, this time Cole was the one that decided to look at the camera and smile.

Cole is getting bigger every day. I'm expecting a tooth to pop through any day now. He is chewing on any and everything he can get his little hands on. He still hasn't rolled over yet and is getting pretty close to sitting up. One of the reasons he probably hasn't rolled yet is because he does not enjoy being on his stomach. Below is one of the rare times that he lasted on his belly and it was only for a few minutes. When he is on his back he can roll to his side but stops there.

For those who do not know I have been dealing with what we originally thought was a knee injury for the last 6 weeks. After waiting 4 weeks to get an MRI it was discovered that my knee was fine, but I had a pretty large stress fracture on my tibia right below my knee. My Dr. said he has never seen or heard of a fracture that high up on the bone. I was told no weight on the leg and I have to wear this very large and annoying brace on my leg. I went back to the Dr this week for a follow up and it is healing not getting worse!! I have to wear the brace for 4 more weeks, but no more crutches!!

Sweet

I almost forgot that I had taken this one a few days ago. You couldn't ask for more! Not only did he smile for the camera but he wanted to hold his brother at the same time!

Daddy's Day

Happy Daddy's Day John! This was one of John's presents and I was very happy they turned out so well. I am most impressed that I got quite a few good shots of Christopher who hasn't been a big fan of the camera lately. Today we are going out to eat lunch, watch golf, and cook out at the pool for supper tonight. Hopefully I will get some cute pictures of the boys with their Daddy and will post later if I do.

Doctor Appt

We just got back from the doctor. Cole weighs 16 lbs 4 oz and is 26 inches long. He was between the 75-90 percentile for both categories. I didn't get his head measurement but it was around the 75th percentile (so he still doesn't have the "Clary" head). Christopher had to get a shot as well today so I looked at his chart to see what he weighed at 4 months. He was 18 lbs 15 oz and 25.5 inches long. Off the charts in weight and head size. Today Christopher weighs 39 lbs, but has been at that weight for months now and is just getting taller.

Cole @ 4 months

I meant to do this Sunday when Cole was officially 4 months old, but I did not get my laptop back until yesterday. With each passing day I think Cole looks more and more like Christopher especially now that he is turning into a little chunk. Oddly enough though Cole has more characteristics of John than his brother. Cole has John's blue eyes, fair skin, and looks as though he will have thick blond hair.

Last week we gave Cole baby food for the first time. He seemed to really enjoy it, but it totally messed up his feeding schedule so we have put in on hold until I talk to the Doctor today at his appointment. Thanks Sissy for being the official photographer for the picture below.
